Unique ceremonies limited only by your imagination…!

I’m Russell Thackeray - a professional celebrant - which means I create individual or unique ceremonies based on your ideas and dreams to help you celebrate the remarkable events of your life - for example new beginnings (weddings, namings etc), or restatements (vow renewals etc) or significant events (anniversaries, awards etc) for you and your family (or work colleagues).

How it works

My first job is to get to know ‘you’ and the celebration you want to have - Most ceremonies are a blend of a subject, theme and a style…and I work with you to make sure you have the ceremony that’s right for you – for example, you may want a ‘classic’ wedding but with a ‘spiritual’ theme or a ‘funky’ ceremony with a ‘witches’ theme – anything is possible – click here to find out more.

We then craft ‘your story’ which can be ‘yours’ for a wedding, or another person for a pet or naming ceremony. This story can be the cornerstone of your ceremony.

We will jointly work at developing suitable ‘rituals’ that can help build a symbolic part of any ceremony:

These can range from:

·      Jumping the broom (an old tradition symbolising crossing a threshold together)

·      Ring warming, binding and exchange

·      Handfasting (literally ‘tying the knot’)

·      Exchanging and harnessing crystals

·      Planting trees or bushes

·      Sand ceremonies (symbolising the mixing in of new family members)

The list is endless and it’s one of my favourite things to create unique rituals to symbolise and individualise your ceremony.

We can then work out music, readings, how to have others involved (in person or on Zoom etc)

So on the day, I act as the ‘glue’ for the ceremony, making sure it works from start to finish.

I work with people from all walks of life, ages, race, creed, disabilities as well as those with different sexual orientation or who express their gender in a non-traditional (or specific) way.

In addition to our work as a celebrant we also offer a range of hypnotherapy services to help you (or your guests) deal with anxiety, public speaking etc as well as our ‘Happy Ever After’ contract to help those getting married ensure their continued commitment for years after the ceremony.
